Shadow is an articfical life form, created by Proffesor Jerald Robotnik. He can use the energy of the Chaos Emeralds to warp time and space. When he was young he had a deep friends ship with a girl named Maria. When Maria was killed he swore revenge on the planet, thinking he was keeping Maria's promise. Then, with Amy's help, he realized she wanted peace on the planet. He sacrifised himself to save the planet. See Showdown for how he survied.

Shadow was a collaboration project between Black Doom and Jerald. Doom taught Jerald how to make the ultimate lifeform and in return the lifeform would get the Chaos Emeralds for Doom.
